Christ alone means Christ alone. Everything you need is found in Christ. Its Jesus + nothing.
I think so many that use the phrase “Christ alone” have never asked Jesus what that means and dont actually know Him personally. They just become words people say without understanding by people who arent even born again.
Its Jesus who gives the desire and conviction to people to turn to Him. Its Jesus who produces a godly sorrow and brings a person to humility in their heart, showing them who they are in light of Him, so that they cry out to Him and become born again. Its Jesus who opens a person’s eyes to truth about corruption in the churches and leads them out. Its Jesus who teaches His sheep how to obey. Its Jesus who convicts His people of sin and teaches them what is ok and what is not. Its Jesus who gives understanding of the scriptures. Its Jesus who gives us strength to endure persecution. Its Jesus who brings comfort and healing. Its Jesus who is our deliverer. Its Jesus who puts an urgency in our hearts to seek Him diligently. Its Jesus who teaches His people how to push past all deceiving spirits and shows us when something is not quite right. Its Jesus who shares His heart w His people so we become more like Him day by day. And if Jesus leads another person to speak truth to set you free, guess what, it’s still Jesus, because only the Spirit gives Life. Its Jesus who quickens the truth in a person’s heart and opens the eyes of the blind.
It’s not Jesus + knowing the bible or Jesus + baptism or Jesus + church or Jesus + the Law or Jesus + fellowship or Jesus + anything else. The simplicity that is in Christ is you only need Him, and HE will lead you home PERSONALLY. The words “all glory to Jesus” actually mean something. Jesus Christ is GOD ALMIGHTY and He doesnt share His Glory with any person, any ministry, or any book. Ever.
Nothing can be added to what Jesus did on the Cross and nothing can be taken away from it. What Jesus did, its forever. He paid for the sin of the world. Himself.
I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. Ecclesiastes 3:14
